Fellers, do you ever find yourself scratching you’re head about things to do for your wife? I mean things that really say “I love you” but then you think about it and it may not be… well…very manly. Well here are 5 things you can do for your wife that will truly say “I love you” and leave you not feeling like you need to wear pink.
1. Feed her horse in a pen by himself. Let’s face it he may be at the bottom of the peckin’ order; she likes it when he don’t have bite marks across his side.
2. Air that tire up so she don’t have to. Better yet….get the dang thing fixed!
3. Don’t yell at her like she’s hired help!
4. If she can’t remember what the cow looked like or her tag number that calved that morning and she left her, don’t chew her out.
5. When you send her to town for a part for the feed truck…don’t be mad if she comes back with the wrong one because you didn’t send the old one with her.
Let’s face it fellers, we all get bent out of shape. Sometimes it maybe at our wives. It happens. Things aren’t going to go along with your carefully designed plan. Besides, I’ve seen some of those plans and they weren’t that great when they started. The main thing is that the job gets done and that lawyers weren’t involved on the other side of getting it done. Yeah, it may not be carried out just so; like you had envisioned it in your dream land. The cow’s ain’t going to handle exactly like you wanted. The far side of the gather is going to take a little longer. There’s going to be a calf that get’s by during the separating. Is everybody alive? Did anyone have to go to the hospital? Then quit your dang belly aching and moaning and complaining. And stop yelling at her! She’s your wife. Treat her with some respect. I bet you wouldn’t have talked to her like that when you were dating! Don’t think that just because you’re married to her that the dating needs to quit. She would probably like to go out to a decent dinner with your ugly “you know what.”
Men, hear me encouraging you to be the husband to your wife that you need to be. I know sometimes life in general is hard, but we shouldn’t take it out on the one we’re married to. God has some words to say about the subject, again as encouragement.
In the book of Colossians we find: “Husbands, love your wives and do not be harsh with them.” (Colossians 3:19 NIV)
Well fellers, I better go fix that tire, I think I heard her start the air compressor. I’ll see ya’ll out in the pasture!
